Flashing Cel while driving?

Hey all, got a different problem on this max i never had with my old one, When i start it up in the morning, and only in the morning for some reason the car runs really rough. When i last checked for codes (before cel came on) i got a knock sensor code so i know thats gone and i could tell performance wise before i checked it that it was. But now since then, twice in the morning when i was making a short trip the car ran rough (idle'd smooth but accelerated roughly) and then the check engine light began to flash (not throwing a code just on off on off). And after driving for like 5 more minutes it stayed on static. Then upon starting it up later it was off and car ran normal (this was 4-5 days ago) nothing has happened for awhile then this morning it happened again. Haven't had a chance to check the codes but will later. Any Clue as to what this might be? I'm thinking bad ignition coil, that sound right? Any helps appreciated and i'm a 95 5-speed btw.

flashing CEL means misfire and it's very bad to drive when it's flashing.... check your ignition coils... sounds like they may have gone out...

Yeah i'm pretty sure its my coils, i know i took it out of diagnostic mode, + it doesn't happen everytime i drive, and it definitely feels like misfiring. Lovely! looks like i'll be buying some coils, now to isolate which one, will the ECU throw a specific code for each or how should i go about telling which is misfiring?

my car pulled the same crap with me with the flashing CEL a couple of times last year... only twice and it hasn't happened since then, I know I have 2 coils going bad as I tested them with an ohm meter and 2 of them came up with readings way out of spec... I don't have a CEL with them because the problem is only intermittent.. if a coil goes out completely, you'll get a cel.

'95's rarely have coil pack failures, it's most likely an injector..which sucks since they cost twice as a coil. I've had to change my #1 injector a few months back. I remember that I once had a similar issue like yours, except she idled rough too, that time i think the IACV was sticky or something. you may want to take it off and clean it...nothing to lose right?

Yea its the coils. Better get it checked out before something BLOWS! No but misfiring leads to internal damages.

Yeap its coil number 6 got the code this morning, 0603...... Got a question now, which coil is number 6? is it passengers side or drivers, and is it back 3 or front 3? I'd guess drivers side back one, but its a japanaese car lol so the order might not make any sense to me

usually means missfire but i know it did it to me once because i left it in diagnosic mode by mistake when i tryed resetting the ecu when my o2 sensor triggered my cel. Good luck
