would like to disconnect auto trans lights from dimmer

I did the mod to make the clock stay bright so it doesn't dim with the dimmer switch, and I would like to do the same thing with the backlights for the auto tranny indicator lights. Has anyone done this already that can tell me what wire to cut?

um why would u want to do that? What if at night you put your gear into 2 instead of D etc etc. ? cutting the lights off to those would be just stupid IMO.

I don't think he wants to stop them from lighting, only from dimming like the clock does when you turn on your lights.

Sorry can't help ya, I have a 5 speed.

I just looked at my Haynes manual. It looks like the red wire with blue tracer handles the dimming effects. So if there's a red/blue wire on the gauge cluster, you might snip it and it might do the same thing as it did for the clock. It might also make the whole cluster not light up. Worth a try.

the red and blue wire is the parking light wire. The wire powering the PRND21 is comming off the dimmer. You need to use the red and blue wire to power the selector. SO basically cut the dimming power wire and connect the light to the red/blue wire.
