Intake

alright so im considering doing a new intake, i want somthing that growls and gives me added torque + ponies but i think that goes without sayin. anyway i need ideas on what to do, ive read the FAQ's but unfortunatly some links are dead and only 1 or 2 that worked helped me. i dont wanna have to drill or anything i just wanna put a BIG cone filter under the hood where the airbox is now or really anywhere i suppose. i like the look of this one
and the simplicity of it.
anyway anyone have one that they love that is pretty cheap (ideally less than $100) and is ridiculasly easy to install? anyone used the one in the pic with any sucess? pics and mabye even a write up would be appreciated greatly.

Thanks and sorry for beating what is probabally a beaten subject but i cant search also a y pipe is coming somtime to complement this

A place racing style intake will force you to cut a hole. You said u didnt want that? they way i see it...You have a few options

1. injen/injen style intake. Injen is MADDD money. Like $270 new. Maybe you can find injen type rip offs on eBay for cheaper.

2. Short Ram/Hybrid intake. You can buy these off eBay for like $30. They replace the midpipe portion and come with a crappy cone filter, which I replaced with a K&N (about $50 extra). Or you can fork out more money and go with frankencar.

3. Popcharger. Take off the stock rectangular airbox and replace with a hi quality cone filter. Stillen sells a popcharger kit that includes a cone filter and a velocity stack (which supposedly smooths out air flowing in.) It costs like $120.

BTW, don't expect much gains with JUST intake. That's my only perfomance mod. I LOVE the sound, but have experienced little/no HP gains on the Butt Dyno.

no point to waste that much... get an ebay PR style (like bomz for example) and use the mid-pipe... throw on whichever filter you want... k&n, greddy, stillen, jwt... don't matter... as long as it's a 3" inlet diameter...
