Reset 99 ECU by disconnect battery????

Will that reset the ecu, if the fault condition no longer exists?
any negative problems?
How long to disconnect?

my pp does not have the same ecu selector screw as shown in the sticky thats why i am asking

99 have the screw you just have to stick in a little philliphs screw driver..

99's have a phillips head screw and it's deeper inside the ECU so you really can't see it. Gently insert a very small phillips head into the hole and you'll feel it catch the screw head. A very small flat blade will also go into a phillips slot, but you really should use the correct screw driver so you avoid any damage.

I think disconnecting the battery for ~30min will also reset the ECU, seemed to work on my 97 since i no longer have a CEL

what is the range of motion ofthe screw -from where it is set by the factory around to the other stop - 90 degrees???? 180?? 360??
