96 max auto stalling problem

hello guys....

im having a problem..... i have a 96 max auto and the dam thing is stalling left and right, it just started stalling like this recently .....this was my fathers car and said that this was an on going problem for about a year now but not as bad.... It would do it once or twice for a day or two and stop for a month.... recently the weather has gotten alot colder and it has picked up.... any ideas on
what could be the problem??

also my car has lost some power.... as of right now i am dead stock with 86,000 miles on it i have kept up on the regular matinance .... i remember not to long ago when i could punch the gas pedal and the car would spin tires with no problem but now if i wanted to do that i would have to turn the wheels and throw it into low gear ... and still would have problems...i dont want to do this i want my power back ......i am definatley getting an aftermarket y pipe, intake exhaust, and most likely headers...... any other thing that i could do to help me put more power back into my ride especially low end..... thanks chuckie

ps dont get me wrong the car has pep to it just not like it used to

you need to describe the symptoms right when its stalls, and how it runs otherwise. does it stall when coming to a stop? when accelerating? while its still cold, or once its warmed up?

don't worry about mods until you fix it. be nice to it until you fix it. those mods certainly won't add low-end power.
