new to the org.....code 0201

Hey everyone, I'm new to the org and have a quick question. My check engine light just came on. Code 0201....I've read the stickies and another post regarding it....coil pack gone bad?? ignition sensor??

Please help...I'm not really sure where to begin. If the answer is posted somewhere else, forgive me, I'm going to keep looking.

Oh, the car is a Crimson Blaze 99 SE with 47,000 miles. First problem I've had.

Thank you!!!

One newbie to another...

I'm fairly new to the org too and have asked several questions that I could have otherwise found somewhere else on the site. Now that I'm more familiar with where things are, I have limited my redundant questions. Since I've found people either ignore you or give you a tough time, I thought I'd throw you a line since I'm pretty new too.

Anyways, the answer is that it's a ignition coil and power transistor problem.

At the main page of the 4th Gen forum there is a section towards the top titled "ECU Codes Defined Again", that's where you'll find it, here's the link: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=235667

That whole section at the top of the 4th Gen main page has got awesome info. Spend some time reading through there and you will be able to answer a ton of questions without having to ask them.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the pointers. The stickies are a great reference. I also picked up a Haynes manual and hopefully the repair will go smoothly.
