Hot Maxima

Everytime I drive My maxima for more than an hour on the highway, even if I don't have my heater or ac on, there is hot air flowing onto my leg(most likely from the vents). My leg gets quite hot, and it is sometimes uncomfortable to keep it there. what should i do? this only happens when the car is in motion, so it's not like i can go down there and see where it's coming from, i'm driving. ANy solutions?

Thanx.

It’s from the vents. That is the thing i hate about those climate controls in maximas $ infinitys. What u should do is have your inside air sign to be ON that way the air is not going to come in from outside even when ur heat or ac off.

and by inside air he means recycled air the first button on the climate control that looks like a looping arrow inside the car... this closes your vents getting rid of the problem... actually if you turn your AC to cool (or climate control to 65) and turn the system on for a second then off, it should blow cold air at u, if it doesn't thats kinda weird, you've vents might be stuck

my old max had that before it got jacked. i would just turn it off and it never let anything inside the car. im willing to bet that the unit isnt working properly.

Or you could ghetto rig it. Put cardboard, where the air comes out to hit your leg, to block the air.

You don't even have to turn the climate control on. Just push the cold (cool/less temp) buttom to 65 like someone else said. The little blue button. Temp settings can be changed when system is off. Thats what it's made for.

wow, thanks, i never thought of just recirculating the air, it would most likely fix the problem, and i have it on 85 degrees all the time since it's cold as hell in NJ this time of year.

I have a smiliar problem when I went on a trip. It only gets warm when i'm driving over 60mph. Anything under 60mph, is managable. I took my Intake Air temperature sensor out, thinking that's the sensor I should look into. It regulates how the intake breath. If it's too cold, it warms it up a little. Vice versa. Also, my CEL came on with the code. I reset the CEL twice and that problem when away. I figure I had someting to do with my K&N air filter installed recently.
