quick question about ks

quick question about ks

ok i know my knock sensor is bad (cel) i was just wondering what are some of the symptoms of having a bad one. would it cause the car to miss fire? sorry if this is a repost i dont feel like going though all the posts

KS will not cause the CEl to trip. It's a ghost code. Symptoms of a bad KS are poor throttle response and general sluggishness.

general maintenance for a ks is about 80,000 miles from what i have heard. So if your about to hit 100,000 or more.. and have never changed it...u might as well as it will go out sooner or later.

I just changed mine, and to be honest its amazing the amount of power this thing takes away when its bad. I noticed alot of gained power under 3k and even more above that....and the car is alot more responsive.

would the knock sensor cause stalling?

my car stalls started to stall alot at red lights/stop signs... on highway, car feel really really sluggish. Sometimes car will jerk and shake like it's about to die out...

run the diagnostic tests, find out how in the stickies, because there is something else wrong with your car if you have a CEL. I'm not saying you don't have a bad knock sensor, but something else is malfunctioning too
