Does a wheel unalignment affect stability on road?

I changed my front shock a few weeks ago and the wheel were unalign after that but the guy at the garage said they didn't have the machine to align it so I was like...ok guess it's not a big deal. The thing is that after that, and after changing to my winter tires, I noticed that the tires would squeal when I take a turn in a average speed. And today, since it's snowing so much here in montreal, I notice that the car is VERY unstable on the road. I have Dunlop Graspic Ice N' Snow ( I know they aren't very good but...) and I would slide like crazy. So my question is, does an unalignment affect the stability on road? I also have to specify that my brother got into an accident with the car a month ago (not sure if it damaged the frame of the car) but it was only a 10 mph accident on the back passenger side fender. I remember that the car wasn't that slippery last year with the same tires. Oh, and I forgot, I also have one of the front tire that isn't a winter tire, cause my other winter tire tore for some reason. Any opinion?
