I have never seen a car act like this.

I have a 99 Max and yesterday I changed the battery. I made sure everything was on snug and the car was running fine. I used it this morning with no problem, then suddenly I went to use my car and it wouldn't start. But that's not all, it has no power or anything. No lights, no power seats, can't pop the trunk, nothing. I checked the battery connections and nothing. It's the weirdest thing. When I put the key in and turn it it does't even try to turn over. Right now it's a big peice of metal with seats. You guys ever heard of something like this? Thanks in advance.

I don't know if something is wrong with the battery.

check all your terminals again. Make sure nothing is hitting a ground source such as the body.

but its one of the best looking pieces of metal I've seen

sorry, might have gotten a defective battery, you could take it back and have them test it to see if it is indeed faulty, have you tried getting a jump?

Have you tried jumping it yet?

Also cars can run for a little while off just the battery (no alternator). If your drive this morning was short enough it could be that it ran off the battery and drained it because you have a bad alternator.

Yeah I gave the car a jump tonight and it was running, then I came back an hour later and it started again. Don't know if it's the alternator or battery.

did you charge the battery? if not you gotta run the car for an hour or so to give it a nice charge.

I went for a drive on the highway for about 45 minutes and man did I miss my Max. I just went outside and tried it agian, it is about 4 hours after I got the jump and it is acting like nothing happened. I mean this car was completely dead, no response to anything. It is wierd. I just got my Max, so I'm not very experienced what do you guys think happened? If it was the alternator it wouldn't have held the charge right?

If it was the alternator it wouldn't recharge itself. I haven't had to replace the battery yet, so I don't really know, but chenzarino was probably right that you have to charge a brand new battery up good before turning it off.

Mine is doing that now... I think its the alternator though..

Days like today.. including today I woke up to a completely dead battery. I charged it not too long ago and it kept the charge for about 4 days.

Its been doing this for about a year but only when its really cold, in the summer time it starts like a champ.
