anyone ever try MAKING their own SHIFT BOOT?

anyone ever try MAKING their own SHIFT BOOT?

my shift boot is starting to look like crap...i have seen a GD in the past on shift boot and ebrake boots but i was wondering if anyone has ever made their own?

I actually made my own e-brake boot. It's really easy. Just take out the existing boot, copy the template and cut out a new one from leather-like fabric from a fabric store, stitch it up and call it good! The best part is that it was like $5

You can check mine out in my cardomain if you want to see the finished product.

I had someone make one for me out of new Harley Davidson seat leather for $30. I just took her my ond one and she used it for a template. It made my car smell great for months!

I think Vyrus had someone (his mom maybe?) make shift and handbrake boots out of material he picked.

Funny u asked because i was planning on doing this after i painted my interior, i thought a velore type fabric would look and feel awesome and i could get it to match whatever color i do the interior pieces in, I was thinking maybe Cherry Red since my cars maroon <shrug> thats my project for over X-mas break.

I made my own. I just snagged a generic one from a local store and cut it to work. Looks good.

That was ptatohed, but I am in the process of doing so (well, I've aquired the leather and spare boots).
