does anyone know the braking data for a 4th gen maxima??

can anyone remember any of the old articles/test drives back in the day for our cars? what was the braking data/distances they received?

60-0=140ft
80-0=243ft
that car was equiped with ABS

Man, those figures are pathetic. Many, many cars these days get 70 - 0 in well under 180 feet.

No doubt that the stock brake setup on the 4th gen is terrible. Upgrading the pads makes a world of difference.

Our 10.3" front discs are very undersized for a 3000lb vehicle. That combined with the mushy suspension probably allows for pretty good nosedive.

Actual According to the Road and Track article our Front discs are 11" and rear discs are 10.9". i have the Article at home it is from June 1997 Road and Track. I will scan it this afternoon if anyone likes.

You're right they are 11". Don't know what I was thinking. Still think they're undersized. But so were most Nissan discs in the late 90's. The newer Maxes come with 12.6" discs offering 30% more surface.

Yeah the new Maxima Brakes are HUGE. the Rotors are almost as big as the 350Z's with the Brembos and bigger than the non brembo Z brakes.
