IACV Clicking Resolution

IACV Clicking Resolution
I had the same problem with my IACV valve clicking that many others have had also. The sensor would click in sets of three with key in the "on" position and with the engine off or running. This problem caused very hard starts, and the car was virtually impossible to start if I couldn't get it going on the first try.
To resolve this I removed the IAC assembly, disasembled the IACV and cleaned the entire thing, except for the wires, with throtle body cleaner. I then reasembled and installed the IAC assembly and proceeded to start the car. The clicking sound persisted, so I went to the ECU, turned the screw to self-diag mode, then turned it back to the regular position. When I turned the car back on, the clicking was gone!! Hope this helps someone.
