hood clearcoat peeling

recently i noticed that the clearcoat on ma hood is starting to peel off on the right and left sides. it was small at first, but now recently its like a footsize bubble like the paint was heated up somehow and the spot on the right the clearcoat has completely worn off bout 6 inches around. i was wondering wat this could be from and thinkin maybe somethin inside is heating it up. but couldnt think of wat would heat it up on both sides and not the middle. i would post pics if i knew how, ne idea??

you can post pics by uploading them to a free web site or I know someone knows of a place to upload pics, then post here in this format

Is it just your clear coat peeling or does it look like the paint underneath is peeling as well? It would be even more odd if the clear coat was peeling off but the paint underneath was just fine.

Did you just get to hood painted or this just started happening?

maybe it was chipped from a pebble or something and got bigger because of nature?

naa

naww..definitely not from a pebble cuz of the way its spread and boiled looking. no, this is the stock paint and it seems like the paint underneath is beginning to burn off as well. might there be heat coming from under the hood, my friend said my heat sheild might be fuktup but i was thinkin there might be another cause.

maybe something under the hood is heating it up with the combination of sunlight and heat?

Age, heat, or a ****ty re-paint job after the car was hit are all reasons for the clearcoat to come off. Mine started to do that. I just had to re-paint the whole front end.
