100 Watt bulbs only last a short time in that small housing. Way to much heat is generated which can't be dissapated in the small housing. That causes premature bulb failure.

I've gone as high as 85W. It generated a lot of heat. It was okay in the summer time, but I actually cracked one of the lenses during the winter. I've since switched back to 55W.

you have to becarefull because with the higher wattage bulb in it there is more heat and if water splashes on the lens it could crack if its hot enough.

I really wanted to put higher wattage bulbs in foglights as per they are almost useless, only go maybe 15 feet; I got Piaa xtreme white 55w and removed the bulb metal cover inside housing, looks brighter looking to them but just slightly better on road; I thing the only choice maybe to put HID's.
Got the same problem with headlights; want to put 85w instead of 55w, seems like is possible if change all wires to better ones and add fuses; but not sure if plastic headlights will crack.

if you want brighter fogs, get HID's in them, that way you dont ruin a perfectly good housing or $60 bulb

A HID fog light is very very pointless. Its the wrong color temp. Best thing is geting some type of projector light and using yellow bulbs.

100 watts = 8.3 amps... or 16.6 amps total for 2 bulbs.. i wouldnt run that with stock harness man...youll burn them to a crisp... if u ever seen house wiring... that lets about 15 amps through.. now look at the skinny wires to the fog lamps... just buy some silverstars and you will be fine
