slight hesitation under 3k RPM

when ever i am in 3rd, 4th or 5th gear and just cruising under 3k rpm, when ever i just slam my foot down on the gas pedal, my car slightly shakes and hesitates a little bit before actually accelerating. if i do this when above 3-3.5k RPM or in 1st or 2nd gear i dont experience it. is there a problem with my car or is it normal for this to happen because i am in a high gear at low RPM?

maybe the car is trying to catch up to speed, unless you have bad mounts thats why its shaking

I have the same problem, although under heavy acceleration I get a nice backfire from the intake. Check out this thread for my isuses...

It seems to hesitate more when the engine is warm (heatsoaked).

I have something similar going on. In 4th or 5th gear if I let off the gas and then accelerate hard the car shakes (sounds like from the drivetrain) and hesitates a bit. If I push the gas slowly it doesn't do it and it doesn't do it in 1st through 3rd gears either. I fear it is the clutch slipping. It has 85,xxx miles now.

That sounds more like drivetrain lash to me, or it could possibly be the clutch. Do you have a rough idle? Does it do it at high rpm's also?

I think its the clutch, I experience something like that, when I gun it say in 3rd and take it up to 5.5K I feel pulses of power, like its pulling then not as hard then pulling, I think its a small form of slipping.

No the idle is fine. Im not sure if it does it at high rpms or not because I would have to be going pretty fast in 5th gear to test it. I wonder how fast I would have to go to get 5k rpm in 5th gear...probably faster than I want to go on the stock suspension.
