is touch up paint obvious?

i was looking at 2 website.[i forgot the names] for oem paint. i cant afford to buy 97 bumpers right now so i am thinking of touch up paint. my bumpers have alot of digs and scratches on it. and both bumpers were painted ****ty when i got the car [its peeling black under the gold right now] so my ques is, is touch up paint obvious? especially if i am going with an oem paint from those website? thanks

yea, its pretty obvious, cause most of the times it fills the scratch and then goes over so you have extra, and it also rarely matches...

man that is a pretty hard decision, y pipe or bumper, but id go with y pipe, i got tonns of scratches on my hood and it would take alot of money to fix that one, and plus if you paint the bumper, its going to be real hard to get that to match the rest of the car, even with paint that is suppose to match, the paint isnt going to be 8 years old like the rest of the paint on your car.....go with y pipe and actually get something for the money...

just my .02

Touch-up paint is more to protect the body when you get dings or scratches. It keeps the rust away and covers up the damage a little bit. But you can always see it if you look closely.

Depending on the color, you can hide scratches pretty well if you do good prep work and use a little rubbing compound to level the repair. If you have a metallic color, getting a good match is very difficult. Solid colors are easier, especially lighter solid colors.
