I am back!

After a long Hiatus, I have returned.

I had come to a point in life where I had to make a choice.

Turbo/supercharger kit for the max, or ???

SO, I bought a Subaru Legacy turbo instead. ( I think it was a good decision)

I have been modding it, and I figure it is time to get back to the max.

But what is there left to do?

Well, after about two years gone from Maxima.org and maximadriver.com, I could not remember my login and password, so Yes, i started over clean.

As for a NOOB, well, if you look at how many posts I have, yes, I am a noob, but If I managed to :

Rewire my corner lights, do the Y pipe, clear corners, clear rears, full gauges, upgrade the wiper stalk to SE, put on I-30 chrome inside handles, addco rear sway bar. FSTB, RSTB and all the other mods possible for my 96, then I am only a NOOB in posts.

Turbo/supercharger is played out. You need to start with a neon kit and a big wing, topped off with a GTR emblem.

Welcome to the org...again.

Check out the sticky about the custom vtec option now available for our cars. Maxima's with it are 1/4mi beasts.

If you are talking about the MEVI, I knew about it years ago. Getting the parts are still a ***** ( unless someone knows where a good supply are)

I was around when the first pathfinder TB's were used, but it was and still is very costly. ( As well as the smoothing the tract for the difference in TB bore size)

Unless you are talking about something else??
I have not seen anything new on the stickies, and since the search function is on hold, not much I can do there.

About he vtec thing: either he's confused or he's just f-in with you.

A handful of guys have gotten the 00-01 variable manifold on the vq30de. It has similar topend gains as the mevi, but without the loss in lowend. It is still a very custom install though.

Tilleys99 put a VQ35 bottom end on his GFs car producing like 220HP with some other mods. He is now selling full engines with the swap for a bit over a grand. I'm not sure if anybodies gone for it yet. Another guy (vsymolav or something...I never get it right) put a full 3.5 in with the 5th gen wiring harness, ecu and everything.

Cattman came out with header's.

Technosquare broke the rev limiter code for the 95-96 ecu, so unless you are boosting there is not reason to wait the 2 months that JWT takes as TS will have your ECU back within the week.

I think the D2 and tein coilovers have come out in the past 2 years, so there is now a cheaper (yet still good) alternative to the JICs. Tokico Illumina struts may be new too. I know when I was first looking at the board KYB AGX's were the top of the line strut, but now the Illumina's are.

What kind of things were you looking to do. I don't know if maxmods was around back then, but definitely check that site out for all your modding questions.

Shy one? LMAO When I got my Max, I was working 40+ hours a week and going to grad school. I was pretty busy. SO yes, I read and posted only when I had something to add to the discussion.

Now I have three cars, and I get paid pretty good to practically do nothing. So I will be here more often.

My Max is a summer car only. Put in storage from October to March. (96 with 96,000 on it.)

But Short of the $600 mods and higher, I have done everything possible to it. Sadly, my Turbo Subaru is cheaper to mod and handles better, but I still love my Max. I manage 30mpg and it still looks and sounds good.

Ahh, the quest for more and interesting bling.

I have too many cars to focus all that attention on one.

So, speed and handling are where I am going.

I tried a little autocrossing on the max, but the handling of the subaru was more suited to that.

But it's still an awesome car. Would not trade it in.

Well, ok I would, but for something like a Corvette, etc etc
