I am wonderingif its ok to charge your battery, even if everything is working fine, just to make sure its up to full charge

Lead storage batteries recharge themselves by oxidation/reduction. Elecrticity flows one way when the car is running, executing one chemical reaction. When the car is off, it runs in other direction, executing another reaction to replace it. Car batteries will still die, but the condition of the alternator is more important.

if your battery is ok, then why bother charging it? When charging a full battery you stand a chance of overcharging it which will kill it and could possibly blow up.

Unless your charger has an automatic cut-off I would say NO. Overcharging your battery is bad.

If your battery is over 3 years old and had a few hard starts lately you may consider replacing it when you get the money, specially in winter. Besides replacing batteries is one of the cheap fixes $40-100.

It doesnt seem to be low or anything since the lights are all bright and everything, but there has been a few hard starts here and there

what is hard start?
also i thought your car charge your battery for you?

Why make a mountain out of a mole hill? Why mess with it, when you start seeing signs of problems replace it.... done!

don't ever do that again! brings me back to Materials engineering class...
