Mods for Xmas! Need input

Xmas is coming up, and im just trying to get some parts for my 97 maxima SE.
I have tints, a muffler, and a hacked air box. So im looking for some performance n stylin. Let me know what you guys think about these things for a reasonable christmas list....
y pipe- http://www.lssexhaust.com/
CAI- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...941912408&rd=1
springs- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...942113930&rd=1

PS: Anyone know how much Y pipe install would run me at a shop, along with just the spring install, and how long would my stock struts hold up for me? im at 130k..

Y-pipe would can cost anywhere from $40 to $200 to install. Typically, $70.

Springs can cost anywhere from $100 to $600 to install. Typically $150-$200.

You need new shocks, your stocks will not hold up long at all with any form of lowering spring.

as said above aftermarket springs shouldnt be paired with stock shocks. i would definetly get the Y and Bomz CAI, those are good bang for the buck mods. unless you want to get new shocks also, instead of springs i would get red/clear tails or RSB. good luck

agreed. but I am so gonna start calling it Xween and Xgiving. haha.

I'd just go for the y-pipe and CAI if I were you. Unless getting a $700 christmas present isn't out of the question, since that'll be the price for springs and struts. You'll need struts, and I'm sure you'd much rather do both at the same time if you are paying for installs.

you dont really need to get SS for the y pipe, non SS will still last you 5-7 years, and i dont know if your planning on keeping the car that long but im not so the extra money isnt really worth it..

just fyi, guys, the origin of "xmas" is in the greek letter chi (the equivalent of the english 'x')- the first letter of the greek word for "christ."

also, install at least the springs yourself, if not the y-pipe.

What's wrong with ram intakes? Granted its hot air, but other than that what is wrong with them? They make what ~2HP less than the stock box? I don't know my car actually had slight torque steer after I installed my intake.

Way I look at it every car runs differently.

Also definetly stay away from DropZone Springs. From what I have read not very good and I believe they sag? Correct me if I'm wrong. If you want the 2" drop get some Sprints, I love mine!

Anyhow. . .concensus seems to be something like a Y pipe. Easy to do, fairly inexpensive.

MAYBE you could ask for gift certifficates to AutoZone or PepBoys or something like that. Maybe even ebay. I'd sure like the auto store credit though. Those "unexpected repairs" will ALWAYS sneak up on you and it would be nice to not have to pay out of pocket for them for once!
