guage light question

i am planning to switch the bulbs in my guage cluster to leds. i know i have to get 194 (i have a 97 maxima) but i am confused on how many to get. i read some places that i need 5 and other places 6. can someone tell me how many i need? also, i am planning to get the oval wide angle lenses at superlumination. i was wondering if anyone else tried those and if they fit perfectly within the cluster or do i need to sand some something or solder anything. thank you!

actually the 97+ dont use 194 but you can convert them to 194s, I believ its #74 that are in the 97+ not sure.

everything should be plug and play assuming you get the right led for your car, if your going to convert to 194s then thats a different story,

dont know how to convert to 194.

I have a 97...I only saw 4 bulbs that could be replaced...I could totally be wrong but thats what I remember. They use the wedges bulbs, same as the ones in the couresty lights in the front driver and passenger doors...so I am pretty sure they ARE 194's but I could be wrong...

the back of the 97 cluster has 5 blubs, I looked at it yesterday, thats on my car anyhow, and it is 194 bulb. I just recently got rid of my reverse indiglo gauges and opted for this. I picked up 5 of these bulbs they looks like they would be the brightest and spread the light the best on how they are setup.

5 bulbs, I used the 5 LED 194 bulb from superbrightleds.com (cheaper than superlumination).

One LED pointed forward and 4 pointing to the sides for all around brightness.
