when my 96 was 56K she was very powerful and could of peel out any time now she feels sluggish .....CAn not changing the spark plug cause high gas mileage and reduce power?---the car just reached 60 K
i just switch to syntetic blend castrol and now i think the car got sluggish..can i swicth back? the air intake is good!

 

Your 96 needs a tune up. Plugs, fuel filter and maybe clean the throttle body.
Check for the famous knock sensor code as well. If that sensor has gone bad it will rob your power but doesn't set the check engine light.

High gas mileage and reduced power? Do you mean poor gas mileage and reduced power?

 

Old spark plugs may cause a loss of power and gas mileage, however it is unlikely they are gone if you just hit 60k miles. However since you are due to have them replaced, you should spend the $60 and find out yourself.

You can switch back and forth between any oils you choose, but it is very unlikely that switching to a synthetic oil resulted in a loss of power unless you are leaking oil.

i have replaced the fuel filer! ok so switching oil is no problem for example original~~>blend then back to original (would there be any build up?)? oh i also added lucas--good or bad?! also the car ticks soooooo much when i stop... and sound from the engine....i leek about 2 drops every day becase the gasket is allittle loose(no big problem)......the car also begs sometimes to start, a month ago as soon as i turn the dam key bam it starts...(the weather just changed here in nyc!) now i have to hold the dam key...likes it is begging to start. fplease help thank u . ps How can i check knock sensor.......
