what i have read before you don't have too, only reason people add new brake fluid in when they change the rotors and pads is because they have this stuff done at a garage and usually the garage has it in the price or they tell the people they have to chnage it to get a few bucks more out of them.

If you are replacing calipers and/or brake lines you will have to change the brake fluid. I recently changed my brake fluid. I believe it is recommended every 2-3 yrs because brake fluid absorbes water. The water causes the fluid to boil at a lower temp which causes air bubles in the lines leading to poor brake performace.
I used ATEGLT “ATE Type 200” (ATE Gold) $10, this brand also comes in a blue color that makes it easier to see when you have completely flushed the lines. You will only need one bottle.
I also purchased some "speed bleeders" (www.speedbleeders.com) approx $30. These are bleeder valves that replace the factory bleeders and allow one person to effectively and easily bleed the brakes. They have a one way value that lets fluid out without letting air in when you pump the brakes to flush the system.
