Dont drive stupid in the snow! now my car is wrecked!

today i was drivin around with a friend doin dounuts and stuff and a pulled around this one turn and pulled the e-brake to fishtale out. my right front tire hit the curb pretty hard and got BENT in at the bottom so its now at an angle. Immediaty i drove it to the nearby shell and the guy told me that the following needs to be repaired

axle
right spindle
right control arm
cv boot
and an alignment

totall cost $905 bucks (labor included) Im not sure if this guy is just tryin 2 rip me or what.

I live in plainview Long island. Can ne one direct my in the right direction? there is no way i can spend that much money. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

I can surely direct you in the right direction:

step 1: take your liscense and burn/tear/eat it, just dispose of it
step 2: lock yourself in your room so no one can get hurt.

And I'll let you in on an ancient chinese secret: when there's snow and/or ice on the ground, its slick.

Sincerely,
Louis

You could keep having it towed to a different garages but that would cost $100 ish each time. I don't see a whole lot of choices here.

"doin Donuts".......... having sex with a donut is not funny it's sick, can't you get the required parts from a wrecker, install them yourself and get an alignment?

listen, I don't know how old you are, your profile under your name doesn't say. But, it seems like common sense needs to be learned. If your going to do something stupid, do it in a controlled environment. The way you described it, you tried fishtaling around a (street?) corner, perhaps a place where other drivers could, and quite possibly are traveling on. What kind of direction do you need? The mech. told you the parts needed, plus labor cost, I don't see what else you need, or how else you'd be able to get out of paying (besides avoiding labor). if I didn't respond like that, someone else would have, because you came on and told us how you were driving recklessly and by chance your car now needs almost a g in repair costs. I'm dealing with winding roads, and I know it was slick, I'm dealing with the same storm you did, but my car is somehow, go figure, still intact.

it's a bit of work, and a pain in the *** if you do it yourself, not worth the time. It will cost you around 1000 dollars, so that was pretty much accurate...It's better than having to pay $2000 to rebuild your transmission for "doin' donuts" in the snow. Think before you drive.

I didn't "call" you an idiot, but am calling you out for doing something "unnecessary", from which your car is now down for the count. Unless you have mechanical experience, the only way to fix your problems, is to pay for the repair. As pointed out above, towing your car will cost you money. also suggested above is to go to a junk yard if you're planning on doing this yourself. Jerry Rome Nissan or Courtesy Nissan probably has something to fit your needs also.

What type of help do you want? You can't drive, you don't know how to get these parts, you don't know how to install them.

What exactly could anyone tell you that would help? Even if we gave you exact instructions on where to get everything and how to replace everything, do you:
1) Have any tools?
2) Have anywhere to do the work?
3) Willing to pay ANOTHER towing fee to get it to your house????

I can't say I feel sorry for you. That was stupid. Hopefully you've learned you lesson.

Unless you need it fixed real fast the best thing you can do is spend some time calling around to local repair shops and get quotes from them. Don't forget to factor in the cost of towing to a new location.

Sounds like it's totally your fault. You need to be more careful e-brake drifting.

Did you read the link I provided yet??? NOPE. If you have read even the FIRST article about the CV axle replacement, you would have clearly seen what you needed to know.

So stop asking questions and start reading. You have to read it in order to fix the suspension anyway. Cripes, a little effort on your part would be appreciated. Especially when I clearly have researched more than you have. And it's your car that bunged up.

i allready know to stay away from those jerks. the guy at maximum tuning on the island said he will do it for me. I think i will buy the control arm off ebay cuz its only like 70 bucks. he told me the axle is like 85, and alignment is 65, and then labor and w/e else needs 2 be fixed is prolly another like 200 bucks. Does ne one have a reliable mechanic on the island that can help me?

I'm willing to help as long as you got a garage. If not . You can always take it to jeff at maximum tuning. It wouldnt be a good idea to drive liek thatbut it is doable.

BTW i hit a curb like that in the rain once. Wasnt too bad like your but something is still bent very slightly like a 1 degree alignment issue and i've been driving with it since i bought the car.

Chances are your strut is bent also.

You crapped your car out doing donuts...and it wasnt even in a parking lot. Than you are given some links to follow, then ask others to come over and clean up your mess. Then you get mad for what YOU caused.

Of course you would get flamed.
