Removing Drivebelt Help

My alternator crapped out on me..... I adjusted the tenstioner almost to the point where the socket will no longer even go on it anymore..... i had to use a breakerbar for the last couple of turns cause its so tight.

I still cannot slide this belt off.......

help!

Did you loosen the nut in the center of the pulley before turning the top of the tensioner?

If not, you probably broke the tensioner turning it so hard.

well i got it tight, so i dont think the tensioner is shot. the bolt placing isnt the same as when i started but the belt is tight enough.....

So I loosen the pulley right below the tensioner then loosen the tensioner?
