CEL Light problem

Just bought my car a few months back. The problem is that when I turn the key in the ignition to "on", without starting engine, the Check engine light doesn't come on, all other lights do. Its supposed to right? Where can i start looking for the problem. Bulb? Fuse?

this was the same issue with me. it is the bulb in my case. i followed the simple write up on how to open up the dash in the HOW TO's. then once the dash was open i swapped the DOOR AJAR bulb with the CEL bulb. the bulb is in this little brown harness that you just twist out. in my case i bought the wrong bulb from autozone so i just swapped it.

good luck pm me for help

I'd try reseting the ecu and see if you definately dont see the light, maybe they check for codes but didnt reset, maybe to hide the check light from buyers.

Cant be too careful now-a-days
