Trouble with car
i havea 98 maxima with 20k miles on it,i did not drive it oneday and the next day i went to start it and it was hard for me to start my engine, i heard clicking sounds, so i went to start it again and finally it started roughly, has anyone had this problem, if so can someone tell me what might be the problem?
Were you low on gas? Sometimes when you're low on gas your fuel lines aren't filled with solid fuel, but more of an air/fuel mixture. Also, if you were parked on a hill for an extended period of time the fuel runs to one side of the tank and it's hard for the fuel pump to pump fuel.
Your starter could be going bad, but highly unlikely.

- an external leak anywhere in the fuel loop
- a leaky fuel pump check valve
- a bad fuel pressure regulator
- one or more fuel injectors which sticks open
yeah it runs now okay, the sound was comming from the engine while i was turning to start it (clicking sound) , i had a half of tank of fuel left, im thinking that in the morning i turned on the engine and turned it off, not letting the engine burn the gas fully, but im not sure, any one else have any opinion on what it might be. its a 98 maxima i only have 20k miles on it and i take care if it, i change the oil every 3 months or 3k miles. damn ima take it to the shop on friday, but if anyone has any opinions, please let me know what it might be, so i can ask the mechanic to check it out, thanks alot guys

Who cares just take it to the dealer, it's under warranty!

1) Depending on the original delivery date, the 3 year / 36K mile warranty may have aged out on a '98 Maxima.
2) Charging a discharged battery will not be a no-cost warranty repair unless a defect is found in the battery or charging system. A discharged battery is a customer problem, just the same as an empty gas tank.
