Are there any differenced between the engine for the manual and auto Maxima's? I need to get a motor for a 97 max and I called up for one and he said he only had one for an auto not the manual.

So I need to know is there any dif between them? And is it something like on the VE where the dif is the intake manifold which can b easily swapped?

TIA

Your post in incoherent but a 5Spd car will run with an auto ECU although codes will be present.

I wasnt asking about any control units. I have to replace the engine in a 97 Maxima 5-spd. I just wanted to clarify that there is no differnce in the motors because when I called for one the guy asked if it was for a manual or auto, and said he only had for the auto.

Thanks for the info.

One thing that you must make sure you do is that the auto engine will have a torque convertor pilot bearing. YOU MUST PULL THE BEARING OUT, and replace it with a manual pilot bearing. If you leave the TQ convertor bearing in ther ethe manual pilot bearing will not fit, most likely making everything else not fit.

Thanks! This is the type of info I am looking for. So are there any other little things that have to be done?
