16" tires & drop (< or >) 18" wheels & tires
oh boy oh boy... well... the time has come to spend some money on the bigger mods... since i need tires anyhow...
i have about $600 now... i will be getting a fair amount more soon so either way i go i won't have to worry about money...
i eventually want new wheels and tires, so i don't want to get new 16" tires and then not be able to use them on some 18"s and then have to buy new tires for them too...
getting the smaller tires will be cheaper, so i can't put that towards the illumina kit, kyb boots, and mzmtg mounts... and the install of the whole SOB...
what would you do? the more "economical" route w/ the new tires and the down-payment on the kit?
OR
just get the new wheels now, ride 4x4, and start saving up MORE for the suspension?
i think im swaying towards the 16s and the suspension, i kind of like gtr_rider's car the way it looks...

I would say to grab a tasteful set of 16's, wider than stock, and get the suspension. As for the 18's, why? What do you get with bigger/heavier rims except a bigger price tag? I don't know, maybe it's just me.

well, this morning i find myself getting up to a knock on the door... so i walk out there and my mom let's my grandparents in... she asks what they have been doing, and they reply with "tire pricing"... my grandparents pretty much bought me the car, and help me out more than i could ever ask for... so right then and there, i knew which route i was going with, and after today, and now reading all your help im glad i just got tires...
my dad sent me $400 for christmas, but didn't call??? yeah, whatever... and my grandpa told me that he would take that money, and get me tires with it... so of course i couldn't pass that up! we ended up getting Bridgestone Turanzas... for about $800 or so... not bad... this way, i only spent the $400, and have a few left over for spending, but im going to hold on to it and save for the suspension...

Drop it, get cheap tires for your 16's and save up once again for 18's...
I would keep my 16's for as long as I have the car... you never know when your going to bend/crack one of your 18's... been there done that

if your more performance oriented then you'd want a good set of 16s and a drop.
18s world be too heavy, and slow you down off the line. some 16x7 or 16x7.5 would be excellent for traction with a drop.
18s world look pretty with a nice set of rims.
or maybe 17s are a good middle ground???!

Seriously though. Rims without drop=UGLY. Drop without rims=nice (not as nice as rims+drop of course). Plus there's the improved handling.

im glad things turned out like they did... the tires are awesome, less road noise, the car feels a bit better riding...
i am also excited about being closer to the suspension... h&r or tokico? those are the only two im considering after research...
its going to take a few weeks to save up enough money though... but that's normal...

mounted, balanced, aligned, 50k mile warranty, lifetime alignment at firestone, and if one falls off, or whatever, they will measure the tread on it or the others and give me a discount on a new one... but i forgot what that's called...
not much more, but i think it is worth it...

very very true statement; i ended up taking off my 18's and putting them in my room for the last 3 or 4 months b/c i wanted to get a bit of my torque back......the stock max wheels are solid
but just in case you want to show off a bit, gotta have that bling
