Don't buy Silverstars

I hear alot about these bulbs not lasting long on the org and i've found proof from sylvania that they were not made to last long. Waste of $40! Silverstars denoted by 9006ST is only rated at 150 while the regulars are at 850!

For 9004, even the XV are rated quite low at 220 hrs against 150 hrs of Silverstars.

Nice...are you using the 9006 list since 9004 isn't listed? just curious.

Miles are fine, but any idea how many hours you had your headlights on ?!? :-) Actually, I tried googling but I can't find anywhere the rated bulb life of PIAAs. I guess no. of miles is not the criterion to determine the bulb life.

I guess you're one of the lucky guys. I have owned a set of H4 SS and a set of 9006 and both of them had very short lives.

Bottom line, SilverStars lifespan sucks. Even the manufactor thinks so. I think if they put that the life was only 200 hours on the box no one would buy it. It really is a rip off for $40 a set.

Walmart just got some new GE one's in that are comparable to the Sylvania silverstars. I wonder if anyone has tried them and if they are good. I believe they run $30 a set.
