need quick help: what is how much to torque the two starter bolts?

need quick help: what is how much to torque the two starter bolts?

the big bolt was on tight as hell when i took the starter off. can somebody tell me what the torque specs for the two bolts are? thanks much

I dont know offhand how much exactly... I just tightened it up with a rachet until it was tight...

no prob.. I honestly dont think the starter is a piece like a gasket where you need to torque it down.. just dont tighten it like its never going to come off.. remember its aluminum...

Just for the record, according to the '98 Nissan service manual page EL-27 the two rear bolts (one long, one much shorter) has the longer bolt at a torque spec of 57-72 ft-lb. The
short bolt is 22-30 ft-lb. I had to replace my starter at ~42k mi., started squealing.

'98. I had it replaced by a shop and it was around $300 parts & labor if I recall. Have to check my records for the exact amount.

You got

I replaced mine in like 20 minutes... it only has 2 bolts and the connector on the back... access is very easy, all you need to to is take off the stock intake

I broke my 3/8 drive craftsman rachet cracking one of those damned bolts... on there tight as hell. A cheater bar is definitely need, unless your family is part gorilla....
