Help (intake) thanks

ok my 96 with 60k was giving me about 180 miles per a tank..(gas is expensive in new york) so i was hearing everyone talking about a intake and how to clean it .....so now i took off the part that connect to the throttle then i bought some gunk out made for the butterfly flop! direction say turn car on the spray for evey 10 seconds until the can was finished did that and the engine signe went on ....the 2 plugs i pulled out showed me the same ecu code then i fixed it (all i did was reset the computer)

ok day 2 ecu went on after about 25 miles of driving ....0705 i got a total of 195 of driving miles

day 2-3 reloaded the tank......(2 days after about 78 miles driven) code 0705
then i got about 205 total tank mileage.

3rd time refilling the tank not after 189 miles i got the code 0705 (now i got 250 miles per a tank getting better! finally )
i realize the car is @800-900 rpm that never happened before when i am in drive.......also i realize that i am getting better gas mileage and the code takes longer to come ....could it be that there was some of that thing i sprayed in there? please help

Code 0705 is EVAP Control System. Reset the ECU and see if it will come back. Also when was the last time you had a major tune up? And since your Maxima has passed the 60k mile mark, have you done the 60k mile service? If you need more info, go here: http://web.archive.org/web/200111091...k_service.html .

I'd suggest do the following as priority:

1) Spark plugs - check and replace if necessary
2) Coilpacks - check and replace if necessary (see stickies for procedures)
3) PCV Valve - clogged up valve will wreak havoc on your engine
4) Tighten throttle cable - overtightened cable affects engine idle speed and ultimately affect your gas mileage.
