changing power steering fluid

I was wondering if anyone has done or would recomend draining the power steering reservoir not just sucking out the liquid with a baster?
-Thanks

I used a baster....it's a lot less PITA than taking all of it apart. You obviously wont be able to get 100% of it out, but most of it will do fine.

Thats pretty much the way it's done. Make sure you flush at least a quart through it. Might take a few cycles to do it. Suck, refill, start the car for a second, repeat.... Turn the steering wheel back and forth, do it a few more times. The system probably holds around a quart, might even be more if the rack holds a lot.

they have power steering flush machines at the dealers but they usually cost around $100 to do a flush.
