Just today my driver’s side window does not go up. Down works fine, but when I pull up on the switch all I hear is a rubber squeaking sound. The motor is spinning and it's trying to work - but nothing. I'm going to dig in tomorrow, but thought someone may have had the same problem. Any guides on the forum for pulling the driver side door apart?

get a chilton's manual . they are not expensive and will help you alot down the road.

 

The rubber gear assembly inside the motor was worn. It's meant to slip I guess at the end points (window fully up or down) - but mine does not provide enough force in the upward direction to take the weight of the glass now. Off to the wreckers...
