bomz vs. injen vs. others (intakes)
i have seen some bomz cai on ebay for as low as 35 bucks and when i look at the price of injens cai (mid 200's) i start to wonder if the bomz is a complete waste of money. i do however realize that buying an injen results in paying for the name. anyone have any experience with a bomz intake? i would like to save money if it is of decent quality...

Like you said, if you buy injen, you're paying for the name. A bomz cold air intake is a *true* cold air intake unlike injen because it takes cold air from outside your engine bay instead of warm air in the engine bay.
I'd say go with bomz, it's decent quality.

bomz = place racing = any other ebay of same style = true cold air from fender = low end power
injen = any other ebay of same style = warmer radiator air = high end power
short ram = frakencar = cattman = pr mid-pipe = any other ebay of same style = mid band power
injen = any other ebay of same style = warmer radiator air = high end power

but compared to pr and injen, short ram is more mid-ranged... it doesn't lose a lot of high end like pr, and it doesn't lose a lot of low end like injen...
but if im wrong please correct me...

Bomz is a good intake to start with. It's CAI, and Short Ram. If you don't want to drill a hole you can just keep the extension tucked away for a rainy day when you're feeling crazy and want to cut a hole in your fender. Until then you get the satisfaction of a nice growl when revving, and a nice hiss when in idle. As far as power ranges for intakes. I think it goes low end for CAI due to colder air, High End for Short Ram due to shorter distance for air to travel at high speeds. Not 100% sure on this. Just remember reading this last year sometime. I'm interested to know the dyno data for CAI, Injen, HAI, and Pop Chargers. It would be a good project for someone who has lots of money.
