STILLEN KIT. tape it up or screw it on ?
got the stillen kit and im thinkin about using both the 3M double sided tape and screwing it on around the corners.
what do u guys suggest? use tape as well or just screws?
i got myself some 3M "exterior mounting tape" super heavy duty from home depot. im not sure if these can be used for automotive or not but they look EXACTLY the same as the 3m "molding tape" sold at automotive stores. these have the red plastic cover on top of the tape as well but they are wider. on the box it says that it may cause damage to surface if removed. now i doubt ill remove the kit ever, maybe the front lip to repaint it but if i ever do take it off, will it cause damage to the bumpers and sides? is it strong enough to peel off the paint? i dont care about what happens to the paint on the kit itself cuz its not gonna be seen but i dont want my cars paint ruined. what do u guys suggest? share ur experiences please !
thanks in advance.

i would screw it on. I put an aftermarket trunk lip spoiler on a 300C about a year ago with the double sided tape they provided...it was 3M heavy duty. The stupid thing came off about 3 days later. Screw that bish on and make it safe.
tape and bolt it. the tape alone wont do **** when you scrape. i put my lip on and 3 days later when i just slightly scrapped on a drive way the whole ****ing thing came off, and i had that tape everywhere.
and dont use screws either, use bolts. the bumper is urethane and when you screw into it, the holes eventually wear out and get larger and the screws will barely do anything. use some small bolts so that it will stay in no matter what condition the hole is in.

i put my lip on with just 3M exterior mounting tape. I had to literally RIP it off the car to get it off. If you prep the surface correctly that tape owns. Of course if I had a Stillen lip i would do both.
before mine was installed, i did some research and it all depends on where you live, and conditions of the roads. If u lived in a mainly dry place like Arizona, you could get away with just 3m tape. I used 3m tape, adhesive spray, and screws as well
then i guess its too wet here cus i prepped the surface really well and just mashed that stuff on there, but it still came off way to easily. relying solely on that tape is the reason i ran over my lip.
i just used some soap and water and scrubbed the **** out of it then dry it really well. if you wanted to do a REALLY good job you could use some alcohol and maybe a VERY VERY high grit sand paper
The smartest way to go is how i have it, front lip glued on with special black glue, sides glued on and srewed on each end, Rears glued on and screwed on. It will DEF hold up more than tape will. Oh if someone knows you taped them on.. well say goodbye to your kit. Ive seen it happen to mt buddies maxima

don't screw into the urathan.
for the front lip this is what you need to do: where the front bottom grill is put a good amount of double side tape there. put the lip on. and get it where you want it. after that drill 1 hole in each of the fenders in the wheel well. That was you do not have to use bolts, and the metal will hold it better than the urathane
for the sides i used double side tape the whole way down. Stuck it on and a drilled a hole into the metal where the ends were. i have not gotten to the backs yet they are in the shop getting painted.
