Problem with Anti-theft system

Lately I've been experiencing lots of problems with the factory anti-theft system in my '99 SE-L. The anti-theft system tends to "un-program" itself and when that happens the remote seizes to work and when I open the door with a key there's that beeping noise (that one that you when you have the key in ACC position and the driver's door is open). Additionaly, the red security light that's on the dash does not go out when the engine is started and stays on all the time.

I've tried the procedure for resetting the keyless entry remotes severals times, checking the fuses (those that are labeled as elec. system), and looking up the TSB but nothing seems to help.

Has anyone experienced anything like this or knows how to fix this problem?
Please help me out because this thing is driving me nuts.

Wow Ive never heard or that. Sounds like the keyless module could be going bad. Does the alarm still work right though. If you leave your windows down and turn on the alarm and unlock the door w/o the key does the alarm go off? Try replacing the keyless module from a junkyard. I think its located in the trunk in front of the antenna. Check all your connections there too!! You could also stand to check the connections on the alarm in the dash under the radio. I'm mainly tryin to give you a bump and some ideas because I realy dont know what the heck the deal is. Hopefully someone else who knows what theyre talking about will help.

I had a very similar problem. The 1 remaining remote disappeared (wife) then when it was found it wouldn't work. Tried reprogramming and a new remote nada - the factory unit wasn't holding the codes (would work for about a day). Finally had to put in an aftermarket which tells the factory unit what to do.

I had many problems using the keys in the doors - multiple alarm trips and system cutouts - none since installing the aftermarket unit.

hope this helps

I'm not sure, but going to test if it does.
The thing is, after I unlock the car with a key and start it the remotes starts to work for a while (maybe once or twice) but then it "un-programs" again. So does this mean that the problem is with the keyless module?

If the factory unit is bad, how's installing an aftermarket one to control the factory going to solve the problem?
I'm not trying to criticize you, rather trying to understand how the problem was resolved.

Well I dont really know whats happeneing but if the alarm works right then maybe replacing the keyless could solve it. Thats probably what I would do since I have niether the money nor the time to install an aftermarket alarm.
