Lowered Max causing the CV seal to break?
Lowered Max causing the CV seal to break?
I have a lowered 97 5-spd Maxima, Progress springs and GR-2 Struts. I put them on myself but had to manufacture the bump stops and rubber pieces out of the wrong pieces I had (basically we made the wrong pieces work) Now, I am searching for confirmation from the board if this could cause my car to not sit correctly and therefore the cv seal to wear more rapidly than normal? Also, I was trying to find those rubber suspension parts that go on the front of the car on top of the spring/strut. Does anyone have a link to information about them and a place that sells them? Thanks so much for the help.
Sprints are "supposed" to be so drastic a drop that the CV joints wear out faster. I put that on quotes because I have a friend with a 96 who's been on GCs for as long as I've known him (about a year and a half) and his CVJs are fine.
So because of that, my opinion on this issue is that your CV joints were going bad from before, but the drop just made it easier for you to notice it.
that's my 2 cents
