Crazy Tach

anyone have a 96 that there tachometer just does it's own thing? basically doesnt work and if it does it's only in cold weather?

Yes, I do. And so have others, just not so common but the problem exists. Replacing the tach will cure it.

Yeah, our Nissan Quest does that. Like sometimes, i'll be chillin at zero while the cars goin 60, and then all of a sudden just jump up to its usual reading.
