what the heck? when did warpspeed come out with an exhaust?

 

Yeh, me too, also looking for an exhaust that looks nice and is NOT loud, just a little deep tone or grunt would be nice, nothing that's going to make me deaf or have to raise my voice to speak to my passenger. And you my friend seem to be the one answering all or most questions on this forum, so spill it my fellow Maxima enthusiast. ( lol ).

 

According to other members, such as our friend Jdm above, the fitment is pretty bad...

If you want something that looks nice and isnt TOO loud get the Greddy SP2... if you have a Y pipe... which is what you should get FIRST if you want power, its going to be a little louder but nothing crazy.

Is everyone here having fitment problems with wrapspeed B-pipe or is it just a fraction of people here? I read that their clone muffler is not loud. I’m thinking about getting it solely because it’s not loud.

I do not have a y-pipe, and do not plan on getting one. I'm not really looking for power, just an exhaust a little nicer than the OEM since I need to replace from the cat back anyway. So all I want is something that's shiny and has a low tone grumble BUT not loud and obnoxious. Can somebody suggest something for me especially where there is so much out there exhaust-wise to choose from. I made a decision on a suspension, I'm going to go with the Tokiko HP series struts and lowering springs from Custommaxima.com. Thanks for all your help everybody on educating me on these topics.

alright... a 2.5" pipe is a 2.5" pipe... it depends if you want stainless or not, but stainless hold up against the cold better.

not all premade exhausts fit perfect... for the one's that do expect to pay $400-500... if you go that route, i suggest the greddy sp2...

personally, from my first statement and my purchase from wsp, i see no point in buying a premade exhaust...

you can select your muffler, which will play MOST of the part in how your exhaust sounds, have an exhaust shop hang it, and create a b-pipe for you. it is a good idea to get a resonator welded in for clarity sake. it sounds absolutely horrible without one...

now, depending on your location and the weather, you can select which material you want your exhaust made out of... i want to say exhaust shops don't have stainless steel 2.5" pipes laying around, but either way, you can get some somewhere, or they can for you...btw, my shop was little, so bigger ones may have access to more/better things... just call and ask.

for alumidized steel piping ran with resonator and you muffler, total cost is WELL under $300... but stainless will be more around that range...

i see a point in getting a stainless y-pipe, but for exhaust, i'd go with alumidized steel... you can always get it re-done, new pieces welded in... because really, nobody see's your exhaust, just your tip...

but, if you want to spend the extra money and get stainless, it will last longer, i can't say how much longer, but others can give you advice around your area on that topic...

for mufflers, id go with the dynomax super turbo... it is a rather oval canister so it is far from ricey... it wont tuck your tip close to your bumper, but if your shop centers it, it will look fine... the best thing about it, is that is only $50 bucks from summitracing...

All right, so what you're saying is to go with an aluminized or stainless B-pipe with a resonator welded to it? And for a muffler, a $50. one from Summitracing.com? And all this will be reasonably priced? Sounds good.

yep, just a custom resonated b-pipe ran from your catalytic converter back to your muffler, of which ever one you choose... there is a bunch of threads about muffler suggestions...

you could buy a premade b-pipe, but the fitment isn't always garaunteed anyways... cattmans is like $300, but even still, you will still have to either get a aftermarket rear section, or get a muffler and have some pipe added to it to connect to the b-pipe...

this may help:


see, there is still a little bit of pipe from your b-pipe to the muffler, so why not just get a shop to make the pipe from the cat to the muffler...

although, my perspective on the matter is if you need SS piping... then you could buy a SS AM b-pipe, like cattman or lss, depending on your budget, and bolt that on... then just get a muffler, and have them add the small piece of pipe connecting it, that way you could have some interchangability of mufflers... since there is no reasonably priced rear sections... you just make one that's alumidized... that way if it falls apart after 2-4 years, so what? it's like $100 to replace it...

but honestly, i doubt anyone will change their muffler out that much... i won't...

so my next exhaust will just be buying a good muffler... big oval one like i have now, not a straight through farty design that a lot of people have around town, and get it bolted on, and just a 2.5" alumidized pipe ran to it, and just have a shop weld in a big resonator... and of course a nice shiney chrome tip!

Just so you know, dont get the TOkico HP struts with lowering springs. HP Struts are the same as the original struts... they wont last and will blow on you. Get the Illuminas

 

Oh man! The Illuminas are $650. !! Is there really that much difference? I read the write-up from Max.org and everybody says that the HPs are good!

 

illuminas to my knowledge have never blown...

 

Okay, I just corrected myself, I went back and read it and it does say the Illumina series. Damn!
