How much $ for a new 5 speed transmittion to be put in, old one is f'ed up

I found out yesterday I need a new transmittion (5 speed) and the place thats going to do it said they could get one for around $800. How much is this going to cost in labor?

JUST to drop and replace a transmission, assuming nothing goes wrong, count on three or four hours labor at $70-80/hr. so, $300-400.

assuming you're JUST dropping and replacing the tranny, this is something you can do yourself. could you do your clutch? if so, def. think about diy'ing this.

They should charge no more than a clutch job (which you should do at the same time)

I got my tranny installed by the Nissan Dealer under my extended warranty. They also did the clutch & the starter. All together it came in at about $4000. My out of pocket= 0

A 4th gen still under a dealer warranty?! Wow... impressive!

It's leaking transmittion fluid all over the place and its feels rough in 1st and 2nd gear.

I just had the clutch replaced 3 weeks ago ($700). I also just had a piece replaced that holds the alxe in the transmittion($300). Then now this, I'm starting to not like my max. I only have 96,000 on it. Since I have $0 to fix the transmittion I hope no one steals my max.
