How much $ for a new 5 speed transmittion to be put in, old one is f'ed up
I found out yesterday I need a new transmittion (5 speed) and the place thats going to do it said they could get one for around $800. How much is this going to cost in labor?
JUST to drop and replace a transmission, assuming nothing goes wrong, count on three or four hours labor at $70-80/hr. so, $300-400.
assuming you're JUST dropping and replacing the tranny, this is something you can do yourself. could you do your clutch? if so, def. think about diy'ing this.

I got my tranny installed by the Nissan Dealer under my extended warranty. They also did the clutch & the starter. All together it came in at about $4000. My out of pocket= 0
