Really bad starts...help

I've been having this trouble for awhile now. Whenever I try to turn the car on It hesitates for like 3 seconds, then starts. Sometimes it doesnt even start on the first or second try. I had my battery replaced 2 weeks ago and the cables look fine to me. Today I decided to clean the TB to see if that was the solution, and I also checked the Camshaft Position Sensor which I believe is where the Timing Chain cover is. I unbolted it and didnt see any metal shavings on it, just saw oil on it.
Now when I try to turn it on it gives me even more trouble and its not even starting. Sometimes it cranks and when I give it another try it doesnt crank at all. Is there something else that can be causing this? Please help

sounds like your starter is on it's way out. even if your sensors were busted, the starter would still try to crank, so it's definitely not your cam/crank sensors. Did the starter ever make any screeching noises on occasional cold starts? That would be an indicator of a sticking/stuck starter that could benefit from a regreasing.

Now it doesnt even crank. I just hear a brief "click". Is it because I kept pumping the gas, while it was trying to crank up? What is happening?
