DEI Cryogenic Intake System

DEI Cryogenic Intake System
Does anyone know anything about the DEI Cryogenic Intake System? I saw it on Custommaxima.com under performance, but never have heard any comments or reviews about it. Has anyone heard like what kind of power increases to expect?

If you think it's good, then buy it. Consider this, that site also sells the JET chip. Think about that for a min or two.

ha ha, not a bad point. DEI is a well respected brand though, I was just curious what kind of power it'll get me as I never heard of any Maximas with it. You are probably right though, I doubt that it's worth it.

the therory works, lower temps, denser air, i use to overclock computers as a hobbie with phasechange coolers, not the same thign but the principle applies. but unless your boosted i dont see any gains for you, like how water-air intercoolers cool better than air-air thats all same difference

BINGO!!! You came up with the answer on your own. For me, that's a waste. It's like having the NOS look w/o the NOS boost.

The conventional wisdom is that you can increase power 1% for every 10 deg F decrease in intake temperature.
So, if this thing cools your intake air by 30 F you get a 3% increase in power. For a car putting down 200 whp, that translates to a 6 hp gain.
Whether or not it is worth the expense is up to you, but for comparison, people are spending more money on catback exhausts that give not much more of a hp gain on a NA car.

Catbacks are a waste of money IMO as well. There's not much restrictions after the cat, most of the restrictions are before it. Thus getting a Y-pipe (F-pipe) and headers will benefit you more.

If there is a leak or if you use the intercooler sprayer for its intended use then you would probably loose hp. CO2 inhibits combustion. It is used in most fire extinguishers. Spraying it in your engine bay is not a good idea on an internal combustion engine.
I have never heard of fuel coolers as a way to get hp.
That bulb thing that they use to cool the air looks like a pretty big restriction to put in your intake stream. Most of the air has to run around it for it to cool effectively (if it does). That would mean you would loose power when you were not "spraying".
You can try it but IMO there are much better ways to spend (or waste) your money. A good nitrous kit or y pipe or some kind of Variable IM will be a much better mod than that will ever be.
I wonder how many JET kits they have sold at custom enterprise. I wonder why and how they still sell these products considering many people on the website they sponsor tell their market that their products don't do anything and are a waste of money.
