Is budget still the way to go?

Is the budget Y pipe still the best pipe when taking quality and price into consideration?

I called Budget and they didn't pick up their phone, so I ordered the Warpspeed Mandrel Y-Pipe for 160 shipped instead. It works wonderfully.

If you can get the Warpspeed for 160 shipped, thats the same price as Budgets.
WarpSpeed makes just as nice of a Y pipe as Budget.
Budget used to be the favorite due to their price.
Is that $160 WarpSpeed Y pipe SS or alumminized?
The budget Y is SS.

Yeah, I figured that to.
So for 160.00 the Budget SS is the way to go for sure.

I just got my budget y-pipe installed today and I couldn't be happier. That with my Greddy Sp2 makes it sound very grizzley. I would deffinitely go budget over warpspeed on this one.

according to their website, their $160 pipe is aluminized, not SS.

My mistake, but still, 40 bux more for SS isnt bad. Ive had my Budget for over 2yrs and have had no issues with it.

Warpspeed provides a 4 year no-rust warranty on the aluminized pipe that I got. Unless you're planning on keeping your car for another 10 years, SS isn't really all that necessary.

My WS sounds fine. It's a little louder than with the stock y-pipe thats all. It's a 160 dollar pipe that gives you +15hp. Can't complain too much.

True, but if the budget sounds atleast as good as yours I'd buy it because its SS. Although dude made a good point on the 4 yr warranty on WS alluminum, but for the same price I'd still get budget's SS. Lets see what the budget guys say their's sounds like.

stone mountain racing baby!! hahaha i used to have the cattman and i loved it though it made my exhaust about 3X louder under 3K rpm not sure if its differnt with differnt pipes but that fricker was LOUD!!!! mind you that 3X louder was vs my stock y with 2 1/2" pipe all the way back to can muffler no resonator so in otherwords raspy and loud. I got a resonator installed then went home and put the y pipe on and to my disbeleif it was louder than without the resonator!? though it was really really bassy especially when letting off at high rpm it was sweet stuff.i havent put the SMR pipe on yet but i also just got the CustomMaxima testpipe(resonator) that will replace my regular testpipe(regular aluminum pipe with flanges) so hopfully that will make it even more bassy and beastly! goodluck all that are still in the market for a y pipe youll love it. -Ryan

Gains can be up to 15hp depending on your setup.Dont expect to just slap it on and gain 15whp.

My setup sounds pretty low and mellow. Its louder then stock but not anything crazy.
I have it paired with an Apexi WS catback which helps keep it quite.

My bad dawg. I don't think that's the bees in a can sound. My Exhaust sounded horrible(1000 x bees in a can) before I got my budget b-pipe w/resonator. I thought it was the Y-pipe at first but obviously not. Now it sounds great.

I'm in sales and I'm critical. I got the Warpspeed and I had one question. I called Warpspeed and I spoke with Dallas personally. Answered my question and I have been very happy with my Warpspeed purchase. Service means a lot to me. Quality is great, service was second to none. This whole thread is about opinion, but for me, I wouldn't spend my money anywhere else. This isn't to say someone else's product isn't good but...

I got the budget y-pipe and I'm very happy with it... one of the best mods for the max. Right after I put it, me and my friend with a 96 5 speed went at it. Needless to say I left him behind. It makes a big difference. Haven't experienced the WS one.
