I had purchased and recieved a y-pipe finally and a staight pipe wich is resonated from custom maxima. My muffler guy told me since the o2 sensor is behind my cat, that I need a simulator. He said that it will make my car run like crap with out it. If the o2 was in front of it, acording to him, I would not need a simulator. So I am asking you guys if this is true? Anyone running one of these? Thanks for the help! I dont want to get beat buy the sheep because of a mod I thought would make my car faster.

 

i ran the CM test pipe on my 97 and what is a simulator ? sounds like a load to me ?

 

95-96 have an 02 sensor behind the cat, there should have been a hole drilled in the b pipe for the sensor, such as on the Greddy SP2. Your best bet is to have a hole drilled and a bung welded on to hold the sensor in tis proper location.

 

Unless you boosted I dont think it gives much of a power boost IIRC. Better off just saving the trees.... yes im a tree hugging hippe

 

you can purchase the bung as a spark plug defouler, they weld that on and just trim it to your need. it runs about 6 bucks at auto zone, we had to regularly do this when our headers didnt accomodate a downstream on our mopars.
