stone racing ypipe

this guy has one for sale and im about to buy it, but as far as i know, they usually dont sell the ypipe and header separate, my question is, will the ypipe fit on my car without me having the headers? and how good are they?

i believe so because the headers are shorty... id invest in a better quality y-pipe myself... atleast a budget or wsp so you know what you are getting...

i have heard a lot of bad things about SMR, but mr.eous likes his SMR setup? others will help out with their opinions i'm sure...

I have a SMR and like it. Not sure where the "bad rap" is coming from...I had mine ceramic coated for its thermal barrier properties. I have an additional y-pipe (ceramic coated) in the classifieds...

hey i have a ceramic coated SMR also!! imagine that lol. The y pipes were sold by themselves long long before they came as a set with the headers. For some reason most of the people who bought them though either didnt install them or they sold them right away. no bad comments like rattles, bees in a can, or fitment issues that ive seen. There all stainless steel and if your lucky like millwoodva and i you will find a ceramic coated SS one. two words, Great quality and low price. no dissin what you dont know or own or have personal experiance with. -Ryan

My installer said that once the pipe was in his hands, it was bolted in place in 5 minutes. He said it was not a "sloppy fit"... ie: rock one flange on and then the other.
With all 6 studs squarely on the flange..slide right into place.....

i know exacly what u mean! i did the same thing to find out the 02 i was trading for sold. i was screwed and now about 4 months later i finally have everything back plus a little. i figure it to be a learning experiance because this way if i didnt like my last setup, any parts like (shortram ebay intake evolved to PR CAI) stuff like that i can improve on.
