AE Headlight Mod

Can I do the AE Headlight Mod to my 96 Max with stock headlights? The stickies only said 97-99 and I haven't seen a 95-96 with this mod. Let me see your 95-96 AE Headlights.

I have a whole day tomorrow and I was thinking of doing it.

Yes you can! The 97-99 headlights will fit up the same as the 95-96. The only difference between the two are the glass itself. Other than that I wouldnt see why you couldnt do it. Good luck and post pics. of the finished product!

It doesn't look that great on the 95/6 as on the 97+ lens because yours are foggy.

Upgrade to 97+ headlamps. I did for Xmas, on my 95. It looks great! No pics yet, due to rain, rain, and a little more rain!! And finally today when the sun comes out. It goes from 70 all week to about 40º.

Thanks for they replies. I knew my lights were more foggy than the 97+'s, so I wondered if it would actually show through on mine. I don't know, we'll see what happens if I do it or not.

Upgrade to the 97-99 headlights. They're much clearer and cleaner than the 95-96. That's what I did.

speaking of clearer - i've seen some MAx's with corner lights that are clear in stead of having the little ribs. Anyone done this? Where did you find them and how much $ ?

they look good, the 97+ dont have the thick glass in the front like the 95/96 have., but they look sick.

comparison. . .

the 97 on the left have CF eye lids on them

you can do it easy, and IMO it looks bet6ter than stock. You can see it easily though especially in light. Go for it, just be careful not to crack the lens, but hey if you do, you have an excuse to buy 97+ headlights.

you've got to be kidding it looks sick on the 95/96 (IMHO), but it loos a better in the 97+ cause the front lense is clearer and you can see into it better, plus with the style of chrome in there it looks better, but 95/96 still looks good to me.

I know I'm the total opposite of these guys but here's my opinion to share to all. 95/96 headlights have glass lenses, the 97+ has plastic lenses. Plastic discolor, scratch, and get badly pitted in due time. You can pull the 95/96 headlight apart and thoroughly clean the insides of the glass with a good lense cleaner. Also clean the reflectors but don't use windex or anything with amonia as this will etch and destroy the reflectors. I wouldn't up to 97+ headlights just for looks. But I've also heard they shine brighter than 95/96's. Guess you can't have everything.

It doesn't look too bad IMO, the 97-99 headlights just look better. I'm planning on doing the 97-99 front end conversion sometime, so I'll swap the lights when I do that.

(by the way, don't mind the fact that my clear corners operation was only half done)

I like mine. The 97-99's are clearer but their plastic and the lens turns yellow.

Well, if FLAVOR_24/7 did it to his 96 headlights, I'll have to do it to my 96 headlights.

95/96 looks pretty damn good with ae's, imo. look at my sig, it takes that crappy chrome look and gives it a more aggressive look, being darker and all.

IMO it looks fine if you just do the cornerlamps "ae" style. its the same procedure with the cornerlamps as you do to the headlights. i liked mine when i had it.
