Shock/Strut Advice?

My OEM's are just about gone. Was wondering what were a good replacements for hard driving - I mean NYC daily commuting. Better handling while still maintaining the "soft" ride.

thanx in advance!

if you want better handling you'll have to sacrifice some comfort, vice versa but a good setup is tokico

Thanks for the advice - been reading the info.
Keeping the stock springs - need to go over the potholes in NYC.

Also have to do the front wheel bearings

get AGX gr-2. they're 15% stiffer than stock. i think u'll like it. also, a rear sway bar (addco or progress), and you should be good to go.

monroe is garbage.

If I was sticking with stock springs then I'd go with GR2's too.

You may also want to look into replacing your stock GXE springs with stock SE springs. They're a bit stiffer and a bit better handling, but retain stock ride height. You should be able to get a set real cheap if you post a WTB in the 4th gen classifieds forum. '95-'99 will all work.

KYB GR2's are a very firm strut. They will handle NYC streets quite well.

Tokico Blue performance struts will give you that nice new car ride back again. They should also handle NYC streets with ease at the stock ride height.

I have the KYB AGX and springs from Ebaich and the ride is very firm. I like this setup and it handles very well. The down side is that you will feel every bump in the road.
