The colder the LOUDER! (exhaust)
i dont know if this has been happening to anybody else in the wintery places but...here in WI in the subzero temps as soon as it goes under 10 degrees my exhaust for some reason is extremely loud at first when i start it and start driving for the first 5 min then its back to normal??? i do have an exhaust leak due to an overused gasket on my testpipe thats pretty bad and that deff contributes, but still. besides that when i start moving without letting it warm up like when im leaving work it sounds like my damn intake is at wot and is very loud!! when i push the gas minimally it is loud and where it normally does the little whistley noise its super loud like blowing a whistle. either way though it sounds like when i had my y pipe on when its the stock one right now??? just wondering if anyone else has this issue or knows whats going on? im just going to assume for now sense the exhaust is cold the leak is bigger and sound actually comes from it until it expands with the heat and seals itself up -Ryan

It really has nothing to do with your exhaust. It is no doubt the fact that because it is so cold your engine has to work extra hard to stay running when you first start it because it is cold. Everything has to warm up. Mostly peoples car whether brand new or 15 years old are louder when first starting them when the weather is freezing. The difference is you have an aftermarket exhaust and your car is 5 years old. What do you expect?
