Painting Dash

Painting Dash

I was just thinking when I repaint my car in a week or so, can I paint the dash trim (around radio and ect.) with the same paint I used to paint car. It want melt the dash trim will it ?

no, it shouldnt. just sand down whatever you paint with a very fine grit,( 600) prep it good and dont forget to prime it. you are going to pull em out, right? mine as well get all the trim you can do and do it all at once. good luck

yeah just make sure to properly to prep the trim. Thats what will determine how the entire thing will turn out after painted. Good Luck

Clean the pieces properly, then prime it with a sandable primer. When you are done priming it, sand it then clean it again to make sure there are no dust particles on it, then paint.

prep is where its at, also try 2 paint in warm weather. i wish i had taken more time 2 paint my interior. becuase i rushed i have paint on my seats etc. it also resulted in my completely spraypainting the headliner and all the carpet... dont askkkk

use the wheel paint from advance auto parts. they are durable and looks pretty decent. i know a friend of mine who actually hand painted his interior of his jetta to white. omg there were like layers of paint on some of the panels, all were unsmooth, bumps everywhere. freaken look like he pasted white out all over it.

There are products out there that are made for vinyl and rubber, they are spray cans but say they are made for those surfaces. The key is in the prep though. I would't use regular paint.
